Gold is the secondary currency of Boomtown. It is worth more than coins but is much harder to come by. It can be exchanged for exclusive items that coins cannot buy (for example the Dilligence, which costs 39 gold), and can also be used to speed up missions that would otherwise require time or other players' input.
Players start with 10 gold, and a further 1 gold will be earned for each level achieved, but it can also be purchased for real money. As more real money is spent, incentives are added in the form of 'free' gold.
